The Healthcare Career Pathway

The Healthcare Career Pathway (HCP) is an innovative partnership that was initially formed to address the critical shortage of healthcare workers in Contra Costa County. HCP offers a unique training program for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) that removes obstacles to success by providing wraparound support and services.

Our goal is to help motivated job seekers graduate with the training, essential skills, and certification needed to become a caregiver the community needs.

Expanding HCP in California

HCP was recognized by the CA Master Plan for Aging as a local model program for the caregiving that works goal.

Empowered Aging is charged with supporting the launch of HCP Programs for CNA training in up to 6 counties across the state.

Please fill out the interest form to receive more information on our work and to express an interest in becoming an HCP Partner with access to future toolkits and resources.

The Healthcare Career Pathway program begins with CNA training.

Becoming a CNA is a career, not just a job. The Healthcare Career Pathway Program helps students to gain the skills they need for better pay today and career advancement in the future as they gain skills and confidence.

The need for Certified Nursing Assistants is growing along with the number of patients and long-term care residents. Hospitals and long-term care facilities can’t fill their vacant positions fast enough.

Students interested in the CNA training programs can check out more information on the Students page.
